Once you have selected your chosen wager the next step is to click on the deal or draw option. After you have clicked this option five cards will appear on the screen. Once you have been dealt your five cards information will be provided on the best possible poker hand available to you at this point. On most online video poker gaming stations, you’ll need to hit trips (3 of a kind) or a high pair like aces to have a chance of the machine paying out. In some circumstances an even stronger hand like a flush (all cards the same suit) or full house (3 of a kind and a pair in the same 5 cards).
Video online poker offers an authentic poker experience and you will be able to hold cards of value and discard weaker cards in hope that replacement cards will add value to your hand, just like when playing live. Once have your best five cards will be given the option whether to go on and play the hand or you can muck your hand (stop playing the hand) and press the draw or deal button to start the hand over.
Here’s how the process works:
1. You place the amount of your wager into the machine
2. Select the option to draw
3. Once your five cards appear on the screen, make an informed decision based on card value to make the strongest hand possible by holding cards of greater value and discarding cards of lower value
4. Click on the deal button again
5. At this point based on the pay tables for the hand you show, you will either get paid off or will be informed that you have lost the bet
6. If you are to attempt to play again, you will need to add additional credit
Depending on the version of draw poker that you play, you may be able to double your winnings. This is offered in an alternative game. In this game the computer will ask you whether or not if you would like to double up. If your answer is yes then you will have to choose the highest card. At this point the computer will lay down five cards and one of which will be facing up, this card will be the computers card. If you are to win the double up bet, you must have the higher card. If the computer holds a king, then you would need an ace, if the computer holds a low card like a three, anything higher will win. Once you have selected this mode you cannot decline, and the computer card is not shown until after you agree making it quite a risky option.
